Microsoft CSP Partner Program Updates — August and early September 2026
Everything Microsoft CSPs and MSPs need to know: the MAICPP Agreement update takes effect September 1, Copilot in 30 reaches GA with a new Success Planner, Windows 365 Frontline renames to Flex, a new Eligibility Dashboard tracks direct bill authorization, and the security specialization audits are officially live.
August 2026 was less about a single reset moment and more about Microsoft tightening the screws on everything FY27 set in motion in July — new tools to track authorization, a formalized security audit model, a generally available Copilot trial motion, and a batch of promotion and pricing corrections. The MAICPP Agreement update takes effect September 1 and applies automatically — no action required, but worth knowing what's in it. The CSP Copilot Partner Council contest entry window has now closed; if you submitted an entry, the next thing to watch for is the winner notification window in early September.
Critical Deadlines and Actions
- [ENTRY WINDOW CLOSED] — CSP Copilot Partner Council Contest: Entries closed August 31. If you submitted a customer success story, the next step is winner notification below — no further action needed unless you're contacted.
- September 1, 2026 [EFFECTIVE THIS WEEK] — MAICPP Agreement Update Takes Effect: The reviewed agreement (previewed since July 1) applies automatically — no signature or acknowledgment needed, but review the terms now if you haven't already.
- September 3, 2026 [THIS WEEK] — Windows 365 Frontline Renamed to Windows 365 Flex: Purchases under the "Frontline" name are only available through September 2. This is a branding-only change — no impact to licensing, entitlements, or billing.
- Mid-September 2026 [ROLLING OUT NOW] — Eligibility Dashboard Expands to More Direct Bill Partners: Released August 27, the dashboard consolidates CSP direct bill authorization tracking. Tenant-level enforcement for MAICPP enrollment and the security requirement begins 90 days after release — roughly late November 2026.
- September 7–11, 2026 [WATCH FOR NOTIFICATION] — Copilot Partner Council Contest Winners Notified.
- September 30, 2026 [PLAN AHEAD] — Several Promotions Expire: Microsoft 365 E5/Defender/Purview 10–15% off promotions, and the last window to transact Microsoft 365 E7 promotional purchases before they retire.
- October 1, 2026 [PLAN AHEAD] — Three Changes Land at Once: CSP growth margins launch; Microsoft 365 E7 promotional transactions are no longer available; and a 5% cost-of-capital uplift applies to annual-term CSP software subscriptions billed monthly, effective at renewal.
- October 20–22, 2026 [SAVE THE DATE] — SMB Copilot Partner Council Event, New York City (for contest winners).
- November 1, 2026 [PLAN AHEAD] — Benefit Expiration Dates Realign: Benefit expiration moves to match your offer purchase date rather than the date a benefit was first redeemed.
- December 31, 2026 [PLAN AHEAD] — Copilot in 30 Trial Offer and Extended M365/Purview Promotions End: The Copilot in 30 SMB trial motion, the extended Microsoft 365 E3 promotions, and the 50% off Purview Suite for Business Premium offer all run through year end.
Team Playbooks — What Each Function Needs to Do
🔽 Sales Team
This month:
- Review your Microsoft 365 E7 pipeline — promotional transactions stop being available October 1. Prioritize anything currently in flight.
- Match customers to the right security and compliance offer: on-prem/Office 365 customers → E3/E5 promotion; Business Premium + Copilot customers → 50% off Purview Suite; E3 customers not ready for a full suite → new CSP security add-ons.
- Start transacting Copilot in 30 trials (product ID CFQ7TTC0MM8R, SKU 006Z) and share the Copilot Success Planner with customer sponsors before kickoff.
- Rebuild any customer-facing decks or proposals referencing "Windows 365 Frontline" ahead of the September 3 rename to Windows 365 Flex.
🔽 Billing Team
Immediate:
- If your invoices or reconciliation files have been delayed since early August, note that Microsoft has acknowledged a generation delay affecting roughly 7% of partners — check whether yours has resolved before escalating a new ticket.
- If you downloaded the August CSP price list before August 13, re-download it — the Windows Server 2016 Extended Security Updates Year 1–3 offers were added in a mid-month republish.
This quarter:
- Flag the October 1 cost-of-capital uplift (5% on annual-term software subscriptions billed monthly) to any customer with a renewal on or after that date.
- Prepare for the November 1 change to how benefit expiration dates are calculated — align internal tracking to offer purchase date, not redemption date.
🔽 Security / Compliance Team
Immediate:
- Review the newly published audit checklists for all four Security Specializations (Cloud Security, Data Security, IAM, Threat Protection) — the audit-based model went live July 30.
- Route customer-facing staff to the new Partner Skilling hub for compliance training — it replaces both Partner University and the old Partner Compliance gallery.
This quarter:
- Identify SMEs in your organization who can source the artifacts needed for the security specialization audits.
- Watch for the Agentic Security Specialization, currently in design for FY27.
🔽 Azure / Cloud Practice Team
This month:
- Confirm your held Analytics, Low Code/Intelligent Automation, or Kubernetes/Migrate Enterprise Applications specializations correctly transitioned into their merged replacements (Analytics on Microsoft Azure, Agentic Business Solutions, App Modernization on Microsoft Azure) as of July 31.
- Review the growth margin partner resource collection and API transition guidance ahead of the October 1 launch.
🔽 Programme / Membership Management
- Check the new Eligibility Dashboard (Settings > Account settings) for any tenant flagged "Action Required" on MAICPP enrollment or the security requirement — you have until roughly late November before enforcement begins.
- Update customer-facing materials to reflect the renamed Solutions Partner badges (AI Business Solutions, Cloud & AI Platforms, Security) via Logo Builder.
- If you hold the Frontier Partner badge, note it retires at the end of June 2027 — begin evaluating the new Frontier Partner specialization as a successor.

| CSP software 5% cost-of-capital uplift | Oct 1, 2026 | Notify affected renewal customers |
August was the month Microsoft moved from announcing FY27 changes to operationalizing them: the security specialization audits are no longer a future date on a slide, they're live; Copilot in 30 is no longer a preview, it's a generally available motion with a customer-facing planning tool attached; and a new Eligibility Dashboard means "we didn't realize we were out of compliance" stops being a viable excuse once enforcement begins in late November. None of the individual changes this month are as dramatic as July's FY27 reset, but together they close the gap between what Microsoft announced and what it actually holds partners accountable for. The partners who spend September checking the Eligibility Dashboard, confirming their specialization transitions landed correctly, and closing out E7 pipeline before October 1 will enter Q2 clean. The rest will spend Q2 doing compliance clean-up instead of selling.
What's in This Edition
If July was about the promotional and structural reset for FY27, August is the month several of those structural changes stopped being previews and started being enforced. The Eligibility Dashboard gives partners, for the first time, a single consolidated view of direct bill authorization status — and starts a 90-day enforcement clock the moment it reaches your tenant. The security specialization audit model, previewed back in July, is now confirmed live. And Copilot in 30, which was announced as "coming August 1" last month, reached general availability on schedule with a genuinely useful add-on: a personalized 30-day success planner that removes a lot of the guesswork from running a trial.
Alongside those, there's a real cluster of promotion and pricing corrections this month worth double-checking against your quoting tools — including a corrected effective date for the CSP software cost-of-capital uplift (it's October 1, not the earlier communicated date), so if your billing team acted on the original announcement, this is worth a second look.
CSP Software Pricing — 5% Cost-of-Capital Uplift, Correct Date: October 1
A Correction Worth Flagging to Your Billing Team
Microsoft issued a correction this month: an earlier communication about a CSP software pricing update included an incorrect effective date. The correct effective date is October 1, 2026 — not the date originally communicated. A 5% cost-of-capital uplift applies to CSP software subscriptions with annual-term commitments billed monthly (SQL Server, Windows Server, Client Access Licenses, System Center, and similar). Annual billing and month-to-month subscriptions are unaffected. The uplift takes effect at renewal on or after October 1, 2026 — not retroactively, and not for renewals before that date.
No Partner Center or system changes are required on your end.
Action Required
- Confirm your billing team is working from the corrected October 1, 2026 effective date, not the originally communicated one.
- Identify customers on annual-term, monthly-billed software subscriptions with renewals on or after October 1 and notify them in advance.
- Review the cost-of-capital FAQ for the full list of affected subscription types.
Eligibility Dashboard — One Place to Track Direct Bill Authorization
A New Consolidated View, With a 90-Day Enforcement Clock
Microsoft introduced the Eligibility Dashboard on August 27, giving CSP direct bill partners a single location to track authorization requirement status, actions, and key timing. It's rolling out gradually to direct bill partners through mid-September; availability for indirect resellers and distributors will be communicated later.
The structural change underneath this is significant: Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program (MAICPP) enrollment and the security requirement are now validated at the tenant level, not the partner global account (PGA) level. That means if one tenant under your PGA falls out of compliance, only that tenant is at risk — provided every PGA-level requirement (TTM revenue ≥ $1M, active support plan, Solutions Partner designation) is still met.
Enforcement of the new tenant-level requirements begins 90 days after release — putting the effective enforcement date at roughly late November 2026. That gap is deliberate: it's your window to review status, identify any tenant marked "Action Required," and fix it before enforcement starts.
Action Required
- Go to Settings > Account settings > Eligibility Dashboard in Partner Center and review status across all requirements.
- Identify any tenant marked "Action Required" and assign an internal owner for remediation.
- Use the tenant discovery guidance to confirm you can see every CSP tenant associated with your organization.
- If a requirement status still looks wrong more than 24 hours after you've fixed it, contact Partner Center support — select "Account status" as the issue topic and "CSP direct bill (DB) program requirements" as the subtopic.
Security Specialization Audits — Now Confirmed Live
The Model Previewed in July Is Officially in Effect
As of July 30, 2026, all four Microsoft Security Specializations — Cloud Security, Data Security, Identity & Access Management, and Threat Protection — moved to the third-party audit model previewed last month. The audit validates real-world delivery capability, is funded by the partner, conducted by an independent auditor every two years, and results in a straight Pass/No Pass outcome — including if a partner withdraws mid-process.
Partners get a six-month extension to their anniversary date to prepare. Audit checklists for all four specializations are now published and linked directly from Partner Center.
Two related process improvements are also coming: partners will be able to withdraw an audit directly in Partner Center in late August (with no cooldown before reapplying), and starting September 2026, partners will be able to see their Security or Azure Module A status directly in Partner Center, including when it's next due.
Action Required
- Pull the audit checklist for each specialization you hold: Cloud Security, Data Security, Identity and Access Management, Threat Protection.
- Identify internal SMEs who can source the artifacts the audit will require.
- Use your six-month anniversary-date extension deliberately — don't let it quietly expire without a scheduled audit.
Copilot in 30 — Now Generally Available, With a Success Planner
From "Coming August 1" to a Fully Built Trial-to-Conversion Motion
Copilot in 30 — the 25-user, 30-day Microsoft 365 Copilot Business trial for SMB customers under 300 employees — reached general availability on schedule, transactable through CSP New Commerce through December 31, 2026 using product ID CFQ7TTC0MM8R, SKU 006Z.
The more useful addition this month is the Copilot Success Planner (available now, no sign-in required), which turns a short guided input from the customer's sponsor/admin into a personalized 30-day learning plan for each trial user, plus a separate roadmap for the sponsor themselves. Each week maps to a specific focus — Outlook in Week 1, Teams/meetings in Week 2, Word/Excel/PowerPoint in Week 3, and agents in Week 4, with Copilot Cowork prompts layered in for Weeks 3–4 if enabled. Every action includes a copyable prompt and a link to a support article.
A further customer evaluation tool, letting customers select their industry for tailored prompts and scenarios, is coming in mid-August, alongside a Copilot Success Planner microskilling resource on August 14.
Action Required
- Start transacting trials now using product ID CFQ7TTC0MM8R, SKU 006Z.
- Share the Copilot Success Planner link with each customer's sponsor/admin before kickoff, not after.
- Download the updated Copilot in 30 launch kit for the current customer invitation template and campaign assets.
- Enrol relevant staff in the new Copilot Success Microskilling series, available from August 3.
Monthly MAICPP Update — Badges, Mergers, and What's Coming
A Naming Refresh, Confirmed Mergers, and a Frontier Partner Sunset
Solutions Partner badges renamed — Customer-facing badges now align to three commercial solution areas: AI Business Solutions (Business Applications + Modern Work), Cloud & AI Platforms (Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, Infrastructure), and Security (unchanged). This is a naming change only — the six underlying solution paths, requirements, scoring, and specializations are unaffected. Update customer-facing materials via Logo Builder; no other action needed.
Frontier Partner badge retiring end of June 2027 — As previewed at MCAPS Start for Partners in July, the badge sunsets after FY27. Partners can still attain and use it throughout FY27, but should start evaluating the successor Frontier Partner specialization, coming to Partner Center later this fiscal year.
Specialization mergers now confirmed effective July 31 — The three mergers previewed last month are live: Analytics on Microsoft Azure (absorbing Data Warehouse Migration and Business Intelligence), Agentic Business Solutions (absorbing Low Code and Intelligent Automation), and App Modernization on Microsoft Azure (absorbing Kubernetes and Migrate Enterprise Applications). Enrolled partners were automatically transitioned with their existing anniversary dates. New audit checklists are being posted for the Analytics and App Modernization specializations specifically.
Skilling changes went live July 30 — Several certifications retired across Service, AI Apps on Azure, Sales, Cloud Security, Infrastructure and Database Migration, and Azure Virtual Desktop specializations, with direct replacements identified (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate → Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate). Skilling achieved before retirement remains valid for one year.
Sales, Service, Finance, and Supply Chain specializations updating in August — Eligible deployments move from MCV to MAU, the gross growth performance requirement is removed, and Marketplace tags are updated to match current products.
Also confirmed: the Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate certification is being fully removed from the Advanced skilling metric for Solutions Partner for Modern Work (it now counts only toward Intermediate); a MAICPP Agreement update takes effect September 1 automatically, with no partner action needed; and an Agentic Security Specialization remains in design for FY27, building on Data Security, IAM, and Threat Protection expertise.
Action Required
- Refresh customer-facing collateral with the new Solutions Partner badge names via Logo Builder.
- If you hold any of the six merged-away specializations, confirm your transition landed correctly and review the new performance/skilling criteria — they differ materially from the legacy standalone requirements.
- Review the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program Agreement preview ahead of the September 1 effective date — no signature required, but know what's changing.
- If pursuing Frontier Partner status, evaluate the incoming specialization now rather than waiting for the June 2027 badge sunset.
Microsoft 365 Promotions — E3 Extended, E7 on the Clock
A Deliberate Split: Standing Offer vs. Retiring Offer
Microsoft extended the Microsoft 365 E3 promotions (20% off 1-year, 10% off 3-year) through December 31, 2026 — giving partners a longer runway for new-customer acquisition and Office 365-to-E3 upgrades.
At the same time, Microsoft 365 E7 promotional offers retire October 1, 2026. Eligible E7 promotional purchases remain available only through September 30; new promotional transactions won't be available starting October 1, though existing subscriptions purchased before then continue under their contracted terms.
This isn't an isolated retirement — it's explicitly tied to the growth margin launch on October 1. Microsoft's stated direction is to shift partner investment from time-boxed promotional discounts toward margin that rewards sustained deployment, usage growth, and customer expansion over time.
Action Required
- Review your Microsoft 365 E7 pipeline now and prioritize anything that can close before September 30.
- Use the extended E3 promotion as your default new-customer and Office 365 upgrade offer through year end.
- Start reviewing the growth margin resources now so your team isn't starting from zero when E7 promos retire and growth margin becomes the primary lever.
Security and Compliance Offers — Match the Offer to the Customer's Starting Point
Three Offers, Three Distinct Customer Profiles
Microsoft consolidated guidance this month on which security offer fits which customer:
- 50% off Microsoft Purview Suite for Business Premium (extended through December 31, 2026) — for customers licensing Business Premium alongside Microsoft 365 Copilot Business or Copilot. Positions Purview as the governance layer for a Copilot rollout.
- Microsoft 365 E5, Defender Suite, and Purview Suite discounts (10–15% off, through September 30, 2026) — for new-to-E5 (or new-to-Defender/Purview) customers on 1- or 3-year CSP terms. No offer stacking.
- New CSP security add-ons (Entra ID P2, Defender for Endpoint P2, Defender for Office 365 P2) — priced consistently across CSP and Enterprise Agreement channels, available now with no stated end date, for E3 customers not ready to commit to a full E5/Defender/Purview suite.
Action Required
- Segment your customer base by starting point: on-prem/O365 → E3/E5 promo; Business Premium + Copilot → Purview 50% off; E3 wanting more security without a full suite → new add-ons.
- Confirm current eligibility, terms, and end dates on the linked Partner Center announcement pages before quoting — don't rely on this summary alone for a live deal.
- Join the Microsoft Security Partner Community on LinkedIn for ongoing updates.
Windows 365 Frontline Renamed to Windows 365 Flex
Branding Only — Nothing Changes for Existing Customers
Effective September 3, 2026, all Windows 365 Frontline SKUs are renamed Windows 365 Flex. Purchases under the "Frontline" name remain available only through September 2. This is purely a naming update: no change to functionality, licensing, entitlements, provisioning, or billing. Existing Cloud PCs are unaffected and require no license reassignment.
Action Required
- Update any internal documentation, reports, automation, scripts, or ticketing workflows that reference "Windows 365 Frontline" once the rename appears in your tenant.
- Refresh customer-facing materials and quoting templates ahead of the September 3 switch.
- Validate any custom reporting or inventory tooling that displays service-plan names after the rollout completes.
Manage Agents Across Multiple Tenants — New Public Preview
One View for Agent Governance Across Customer Tenants
Now in public preview, multi-tenant agent management in the Microsoft 365 admin center lets administrators view and manage agents across every tenant they govern from a single experience — a consolidated agent inventory, the ability to install or block agents across eligible tenants, tenant-specific risk and activity insights (Agent 365 license required), and a tenant switcher that avoids repeated sign-outs.
For CSP partners managing customers through Granular Delegated Admin Privileges (GDAP), this meaningfully reduces repetitive admin work across a multi-tenant customer base — though actions remain scoped to whatever delegated role you hold in each tenant.
Action Required
- Explore multi-tenant agent management if you manage agents across multiple GDAP-connected customer tenants.
- Confirm Agent 365 licenses are assigned to any user whose agent activity and risk insights you need visibility into — this data isn't available without it.
Copilot App Unification — URL and Branding Change
A Simpler Work/Personal Distinction, Rolling Out Now
Starting August 18, 2026, Microsoft began updating the Copilot web, desktop, and mobile app experiences to make work vs. personal accounts easier to distinguish — clearer account indicators, a green shield for Entra work accounts, a simplified app name and icon, and a URL move from m365.cloud.microsoft to copilot.cloud.microsoft (with automatic redirection unless blocked by network policy). Security, compliance, and governance controls are unchanged.
An early preview of the updated Windows and Mac desktop app landed August 18; broad desktop deployment begins mid-September.
Action Required
- Verify copilot.cloud.microsoft isn't blocked by customer network, proxy, firewall, or access policies.
- Add *.cloud.microsoft to organizational allow lists where appropriate.
- Review the Microsoft 365 Copilot Partner FAQ and the to-reseller offer talking points before the mid-September broad deployment.
Dragon Copilot Physician Apps and Agents — New Healthcare Marketplace Channel
A New Distribution Path for Healthcare ISVs (US Only)
Partners building healthcare software can now publish AI-powered apps and agents directly into the Dragon Copilot clinician workflow via a dedicated Marketplace offer type, available now in the United States. Rather than building standalone applications and managing lengthy custom deployments, ISVs can use Microsoft Marketplace's existing discovery, procurement, and fulfillment infrastructure to reach healthcare organizations already using Dragon Copilot — covering use cases like clinical insights, revenue cycle management, prior authorization, and clinical decision support.
Action Required — Healthcare ISVs
- Review the Dragon Copilot Physician apps and agents documentation to assess fit for your solution.
- If you have an existing healthcare AI product built as a standalone app, evaluate whether repackaging it as a Dragon Copilot Marketplace offer reduces your integration and deployment overhead.
Benefits Redemption — New Process, and a Change to Watch for November
Redemption Modernized Now, Expiration Alignment Changes Later
Microsoft streamlined how partners redeem seat-based cloud and Azure benefits: redemption now runs through a guided Partner Center experience completed via a $0 purchase flow, depositing benefits directly into the billing account used for offer purchases. Azure credits (including GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Copilot Enterprise credits) now land directly on a billing profile — no more manual activation link, user assignment, or new subscription creation. This is live now in your region for new purchases and renewals going forward; it doesn't change what benefits you're entitled to, only how you activate them.
Separately, effective November 1, 2026, benefit expiration dates realign to match your offer purchase date rather than the date a benefit was first redeemed — giving a more consistent renewal experience between package membership and benefit availability.
Action Required
- Read the benefits activation blog and updated Learn documentation to understand the new redemption flow before your next benefit activation.
- Note that benefits can now only be redeemed on tenants under the same billing account used for your MAICPP purchase — not third-party tenants.
- Update internal tracking ahead of the November 1 expiration-date realignment.
Housekeeping — Compliance Training, Invoicing, and a Price List Correction
Partner Compliance Readiness training now in the Skilling hub — The Partner Skilling hub is now the single home for compliance training, replacing both Partner University and the old Partner Compliance gallery. The catalog covers topics from discount passthrough and after-the-fact discounting to deal execution compliance and global trade compliance.
Invoice generation delayed for ~7% of partners — Microsoft acknowledged a delay affecting a small percentage of partners' invoice and reconciliation file availability, first reported August 7. Invoices remain accurate; only availability timing is affected, and no partner action is required. If this has been ongoing for your organization for several weeks without resolution, it's reasonable to check in with support rather than assume it will simply clear on its own.
Windows Server 2016 ESU price list republish (resolved) — A publishing delay kept the Windows Server 2016 Extended Security Updates Year 1–3 offers out of the initial August price list. Microsoft republished the price list mid-month on August 13. If you downloaded the price list before that date and haven't since, grab the refreshed version to make sure you're quoting current pricing.
Action Required
- Share the Partner Skilling hub link with customer-facing staff and teams supporting Microsoft products.
- If your invoice delay has persisted for multiple weeks, open a support ticket rather than continuing to wait.
- Confirm your CSP price list reflects the August 13 republish if you haven't re-downloaded it since.
Marketing — FY27 Co-op Guidance and the Case for Modernizing Your GTM
New Research on What's Actually Driving Partner Marketing ROI
New Omdia research, commissioned around FY27 planning, points to a consistent pattern among high-growth partners: investing in the moments that actually influence buyers, building multi-touch journeys instead of single-channel pushes, fully utilizing available co-op funding, and modernizing operations with AI and measurement tools. Evolved FY27 co-op guidance gives a clearer path to fund demand-generation activity, and Partner Marketing Center Pro adds AI-powered execution capabilities for partners who want to move faster without a proportional increase in marketing headcount.
Action Required
- Review the FY27 co-op guide and resource collection before your next quarterly marketing plan.
- Explore Partner Marketing Center Pro if your team is capacity-constrained on campaign execution.
- Read the Omdia study for the underlying research behind the FY27 guidance.
IT Nation Connect ANZ — Recap, and What's Next
The Sydney Event Has Wrapped — Two More Stops Ahead
Microsoft's featured session at IT Nation Connect ANZ 2026 in Sydney — "From Legacy Managed Service to Secure AI Service with Microsoft" — took place August 27, covering how to position security as the foundation for AI readiness using Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Defender, and Purview, and addressing emerging governance challenges like agent sprawl and permission misuse.
If you weren't able to attend, the same content and community will resurface at Microsoft's next two stops: IT Nation Connect Orlando (November 4–6, 2026) and IT Nation Connect London (March 1–3, 2027).
Action Required
- Join the Microsoft Security Partner Community on LinkedIn for updates and materials from the ANZ session.
- Mark Orlando (Nov 4–6) on your team's calendar now if security-as-AI-readiness is part of your SMB pitch.
10 Questions CSPs Should Be Asking Right Now
I entered the Copilot Partner Council contest. What happens now?
The entry window closed August 31. If you submitted a story, there's nothing further to do on your end — winners are notified September 7–11. If you didn't get an entry in, there's no current action available here; the next opportunity for the SMB Copilot Partner Council would be a future cycle, which Microsoft hasn't yet announced.
Does the MAICPP Agreement update taking effect September 1 require me to do anything?
No signature or acknowledgment is required — it applies automatically. But "no action required" isn't the same as "nothing changed." Review the agreement preview so your team knows what the updated terms actually say.
The Eligibility Dashboard is new. How urgent is checking it?
Not emergency-urgent, but not something to leave for next quarter either. Enforcement doesn't begin until roughly late November, but the value of the 90-day window is entirely in using it — if you wait until week 12 to check for the first time, you've given up most of your remediation runway.
I hold one of the merged specializations from July. How do I know if my transition went through cleanly?
Check Partner Center directly rather than assuming — the same anniversary date should show, but the underlying performance and skilling criteria have changed materially. If your specialization status or requirements look inconsistent with what's documented, that's worth raising with your Partner Development Manager now, not at renewal.
Windows 365 Frontline is becoming Windows 365 Flex. Do my customers need to do anything?
No — this is branding only, with zero impact on licensing, entitlements, or billing. The only real work is on your side: updating any documentation, scripts, or customer materials that still reference "Frontline" by the September 3 switch.
My Microsoft 365 E7 deal is still in negotiation. How much time do I actually have?
Through September 30 — after that, new E7 promotional transactions aren't available at all, not just at a worse discount. If you're not going to have signed paper by then, don't promise a customer E7 pricing you may not be able to deliver.
Is the CSP software cost-of-capital uplift a new charge, or a correction to something already communicated?
Both, in a sense — the underlying 5% uplift on annual-term, monthly-billed software subscriptions was already announced, but the effective date was wrong in the original communication. The correct date is October 1, 2026, at renewal. If your team built anything off the earlier date, that's worth a specific correction pass.
Copilot in 30 is now GA. Does the Success Planner replace my own onboarding process, or supplement it?
Supplement, not replace. It's a genuinely useful structured framework — but it works best layered onto whatever check-in cadence and conversion conversation you already run, not treated as a fully automated substitute for partner involvement during the trial.
The security specialization audits are live now. What's the realistic timeline to prepare?
You have a six-month anniversary-date extension built in specifically for this. Use it deliberately: pull your specialization's audit checklist now, identify who internally can source the required artifacts, and treat the extension as a working preparation window, not a grace period to ignore.
Should I be worried about the invoice generation delay affecting my billing?
Not for accuracy — Microsoft has been clear the invoices themselves remain correct, only availability timing is affected. If it's been a persistent issue for several weeks with no resolution, checking in with support is reasonable at this point rather than continuing to wait indefinitely.
